Trial Proves Reliable Network Chlorine Monitoring is Now Possible

May 25 2016

The UK's favourite chlorine monitor has gone portable, making reliable network monitoring possible for the first time, taking the UK and Ireland by storm.

Extensive field testing of the ChlorNet, from ATi (UK), over 12 months by a UK leading water company proved to be a huge success, with the company making savings of millions due to the accurate and continuous data stream of the ChlorNet.

The trial involved the installation of 100 ChlorNet monitors in distribution sites of control network, with each site visited every three months.  Results from the trial showed that of all the 100 installed monitors, 61% needed no maintenance at all over the year, and 94% having only 1 maintenance event or less. The only way water companies can get this sort of data is through the continuous monitoring offered by the ChlorNet - no other technology can achieve these results.

The ChlorNet is the first continuous battery powered, portable chlorine monitor that gives the same measurement performance as the more traditional fixed monitor, with no compromise on measurement.

It is proven to provide accurate, reliable and real time data, helping water companies to improve the quality of water before it gets to the customer. The monitor allows changes in chlorine levels to be continuously monitored, while being alerted to any emerging problems by an alarm. When used in conjunction with a modem and a web portal, the ChlorNet can then geo-locate an event, indicating in which part of the network it is occurring.

ATi UK’s Managing Director, Mike Strahand, said: “ChlorNet is another ATi solution that helps drive down complaints, increase credit ratings and result in proactive network management to safeguard water quality.”
