Excellence plus – the GC-2010 Plus

May 13 2015

Shimadzu’s GC-2010 Plus enables reliable, high precision trace analysis with high repeatability utilising detectors such as FID and FPD featuring best-in-class sensitivity. In addition, rapid oven cooling and Advanced Flow Technology shorten analysis time tremendously for further significant gains in productivity.

GC-2010 Plus Series of high-sensitivity detectors for trace level analysis
Demands for higher sensitivity and trace amount analysis are rising as researchers continue to seek the way to develop value-added products and ensure high quality assurance. Completely redesigned Shimadzu FID and FPD detectors achieve the world's best sensitivity, allowing even lower trace level analysis.

Advanced Flow Technology
New flow-controlling technologies such as Multidimensional GC, back flushing and detector splitting enable higher separation capability and faster analysis.

The MDGC/GCMS-2010 is a Multidimensional GC system which provides unequalled separation power with high reproducibility facilitating analyses of the most complex samples such as petroleum products, aromas and optical isomers. This is achieved through Shimadzu's next generation multi-deans switching technology which uniquely delivers multi heart-cut 2D performance with robust and intuitive operation through the development of coordinated software and hardware innovations. These work seamlessly to solve your most difficult separation problems.

The backflush system reverses the flow of the carrier gas through the pre-column after the last compound of interest eluted onto the main column to discharge residual and high contaminants from the system after injection. This shortens the analysis time and improves productivity. These high boiling point components are discharged from the split vent, preventing column contamination and shift in the retention time. The backflush system is suited to applications where the target components are eluted in a relatively short time, but where elution of high boiling point contaminants increases the overall analysis time.

The detector splitting system incorporates hardware and software enabling the user to easily install, optimise and operate a GC system consisting of a single injection and analytical column that is split to multiple detectors.
