SmartWireless Technology – Improving Safety

Jun 10 2015

As wireless capabilities reach new technological milestones, the integration of wireless gas detection systems in industrial applications is increasing. Among the safest and most revolutionary product lines available today is Detcon’s SmartWireless® technology. Easy to customise for a wide range of locations and heavy industrial applications, some wireless components include toxic and infrared combustible gas detectors, controllers, remote HMIs, network configuration tablets, audio-visual alarm stations, solar panels, and rechargeable or disposable battery options. Remote access to system data via Ethernet or cellular communication is now possible with the newly innovated Sentinel SiteWatch remote monitor.

The SmartWireless product line also offers a customisable solution for those in need of a rugged, transportable system Detcon’s SmartWireless Site Sentinel includes a tripod, network HMI, gas detection sensor(s) and alarm warning devices. Flexible and expandable, a standard network can support up to 32 devices and consists of any combination of wireless and/or wired sensors and one or more HMI panels. Additional sensors and/or remote alarm stations on tripods can be added as needed to assure widespread alert to site personnel. Critical fault diagnostics are readily available locally or through a link to other members of the network.

All SmartWireless systems use an innovative 'Self-Healing Mesh Network' topology that allows each device to act as a router or repeater for all other devices in the network. An optional and proprietary 'Fault Tolerant Safety Network' technology is also available which guarantees no single point of failure as processing power is shared among all devices in the network.
