Gas Detection

ADOS new generation gas warning devices complying with DIN-EN 50271

May 13 2015

ADOS’ GTR210 gas transmitter is suitable for continuous measurement of gases in a vast range of conditions, including areas with a high risk of explosion. With its six different types of sensor, the GTR210 can measure noxious, explosive and non-combustible gases and vapours. Display of the measured gas concentration and the adjustable alarm thresholds, are shown on a multicolour graphic display. The keyboard input is by way of a touchpad. A current signal is generated that is proportional to the measured concentration of gas, which is transmitted to an evaluation unit placed in a safe area, away from any dangers of explosion. The explosion-protected gas transmitter’s certification was carried out by DEKRA.

ATEX test certificate: DEKRA 11 ATEX 0257 X

IECEx test certificate: IECEx DEK 11.0090 X

Type of protection: Ex d e ia mb IIC T4 Gb

SIL 1 & functional test: ATEX Certificate –> BVS 12 ATEX G 001 X

New: Advanced field of application: marine (optional MED)
The GTR 210 gas transmitter product range with the optional MED fulfills the requirements of the 96/98/EC Marine Equipment Directive and its annual updated addendum 2013/52/EU. The conformity with the above mentioned regulation has been certified by the ship safety division of the German Government Safety Organisation for Transport and Transport Economies. The compliance with international IEC standards and the durability against saltwater was verified. The GTR 210 can now be installed under as well as on deck (weather zone) under harsh conditions. The field of application extends to:

  • Gas tankers
  • Container ships
  • Offshore platforms
  • Applications in aggressive environments.

FlexADOS 914 is a multi-channel gas warning evaluation unit which complies to functional safety level SIL 1 in combination with a suitable gas transmitter such as the ADOS GTR 210. This makes the FlexADOS 914 a suitable central unit for monitoring for  explosive atmospheres, toxic gases and vapours. The compact housing conforms to IP54 rating.

The FlexADOS 914 is available in two versions. For smaller installations, 12 analogue gas transmitters with 4-20 mA current interface can be used with the evaluation unit, which provides three alarm thresholds for each sensor, a maximum of 14 floating alarm outputs and additional contacts for maintenance, sensor error and mains fault indication. The FlexADOS 914 complies with the current ATEX functional test, as well as does the ADOS GTR 210 gas transmitter.

Alternatively, 60 gas transmitters with digital interface can be connected to the central via the LON® field bus. This version is mainly used for the monitoring of toxic gases and explosive atmospheres in car parks and tunnels. The gas transmitters are grouped into two supervision areas, with a total of 17 floating outputs for ventilation control and warning accessories such as banners, horns and fault indication. The FlexADOS 914 LON® in combination with the ADOS TOX 914 LON®  gas transmitters fulfil all the requirements of the German VDI 2053 car park regulations from 12/2014.
