Company introduces device that renders wastewater drinkable

Epuramat, a Luxembourg-based firm, has introduced a compact wastewater treatment product to the consumer market, which allows undrinkable water to be safely treated for human consumption.

The utility, entitled Box4Water, is a container that facilitates a complete wastewater treatment utility which is capable of cleaning extremely dirty wastewater to drinking-standard levels.

It is capable of supplying clean water for up to 200 people in small villages and communities.

Box4Water can also be used by industries and aid agencies, as it saves on the time and money needed to distribute water to disaster-stricken areas, according to the company.

The short amount of time it takes to set up as well as its reduced size could also prove to be an added bonus for businesses, aid agencies and communities, it added.

Epuramat, which provides water treatment facilities, was established in 2005 and has established its own wastewater treatment method, the ExSep (extreme separator) system.
