New Moisture Detector

Extractive sample systems are widely used for gas analysis in process and emission applications. Reliable results of the analysis and the lifetime of the measuring devices depend highly on the sufficient removal of particles and condensate from the sample gas stream.

While particulates are retained in adequate filters, the condensate is removed by lowering the dew point of the gas stream. For this purpose thermoelectric or compressor driven coolers are generally used.

For the protection of analysers in the case of a moisture slip, moisture detectors are installed downstream the cooler. These detectors signal deviations from the normal and thus raise alarms or trigger equivalent measures.

Bühler Technologies GmbH (Germany) presents a new moisture detector which enriches the existing range of detectors.

The new FF-AU-IG1K only needs a 24V DC power supply. Sensor and transmitter area accommodated in a small housing and are designed to be placed directly at the point of use. Like all other moisture detector models, the new type has a G1/4” straight thread and fits intoadequate inline adaptors or the bypass port of a last chance filter located directly upstream the analyser.

For the connection to power and the main system a M12 socket is provided. The unit has self-monitoring functions and is equipped with status LEDs. The new moisture detector reduces installation cost significantly.
